How to be a medium psychic
Medium Helen Duncan was the last person in the UK to be trialled in the courts on the grounds of simply claiming to be a psychic medium, the last witch – as she became known. In times gone by psychics and mediums shows would usually have taken place in relatively un-broadcasted ‘events’ in folk’s homes with a darkened room.
How times have changed! The internet explosion has created a vast network for ‘fortune tellers’ to advertise the psychic, clairvoyants and medium business. The basic UK rates these people charge are in the region of £1.50 per text message, and £1.50 per minute for a live phone call reading. Psychic mediums are now a regular item on various types of shows, from game shows to talent shows to big brother type shows. All with an interest in predicting who will be the winners and losers etc.
This creates a huge amount of publicity for these folks – nothing wrong with publicity as that is pretty much what makes the world go round.
Looking for comfort
In 2005 a friend invited me to attend a few spiritualist events, after putting her off for a few weeks I thought I would ‘Give it a go.’ And so these events all have a similar structure and audiences. All the mediums would mention an awful lot in a very small time frame, each time someone would know someone who knows something about someone’s friend’s family and so on!!! Hmmm… I attended three events and that was enough.
After speaking with many of the spiritualist church attendees, one of the things that I discovered was that most folks had some kind of trouble in life, whether from the past or within the current times. Answers are what they were craving; they needed someone to give those answers and comfort.
I know of someone who spent well over £10,000.00 on phone calls to various psychic, clairvoyant and mediums throughout the world; Keen, Psychic light, the circle, are just a few of the bigger companies along with the self named psychic mediums that you find in the media. This started by simply calling into one of the entertainment seaside stalls that claim to predict your future, as this persons life had been changed hugely.

Psychics easy earnings
Being impressed by what the seaside psychic had mentioned it was decided just to double check by asking another on the telephone, through this £1.50 per minute phone call things did not ad up enough but was close enough to confirm all mentioned must in fact be true to happen. A few days later it was decided to try another psychic but this time it was completely off the mark to the two previous readings. Immediately after terminating that phone they decided to phone another, this other – like all the others – had plenty to ask, and in the end it was a similar result to the original readings.
Those companies charging £1.50 per minute was the minimum, the individual can change the price plan as and when they want to. This was discovered when deciding to return a call to one of these psychics asking if they had a better time frame as nothing was happening, after arranging the call it had moved to £3.00 per minute, these calls have a limit of 20 minutes but near the end ask if you would like to continue, well continuing was a necessity as near the end of the calls something was always needing mentioning.
After only a few week and life still feeling exactly as bad as ever more psychic advice was required, hang on though, cash was nowhere to be seen, a great idea was to re-mortgage the house. A re-mortgage went through in no time and soon upwards of £10,000.00 was available to spend wisely and so then the addictive disorder took over.
Daily, hourly calls to these psychics took over in a very short time scale; £200.00 per day was easily being spent. As you can imagine the re-mortgaged £10,000.00 was spent in around two months. Devastated at the fact it was a struggle to now contact the psychics rather than the loss of the cash! Psychic calls can be an obsessive addictive disorder without a doubt.

One of the most annoying things from those days is that none of these companies ever advised my friend against calling them so much, even putting the hourly rate up for arranged calls because they had something special to say.
I don’t know but maybe the law has changed now? I think it would be a very bad idea to try and find out! Helen Duncan was put on trail as the British government wanted to try prove she was a fraud, certainly during the second world war they needed her silent, on one occasion she went missing for a few weeks and returned a slightly changed woman, though the government have always denied it was anything to do with them.
Today’s ‘fortune tellers’ make a fortune out of folks who are experiencing difficult times. Anyone can claim to be a psychic, clairvoyant, medium and the likes. On the internet companies you can set up a great profile, tell every one of your experiences in life and how you’re always correct, set your phone tariffs and off you go with guaranteed income, and doing this on as many psychic sites as you feel you can cope with. The 2011 world economical climate is testing many folks and I would suspect fortune tellers are making more of a fortune than ever before.
I am not saying if ‘true’ psychics clairvoyants mediums exist or not and feel sure that some genuinely believe that they do have this ‘gift,’ but is it a gift? Those phone line and internet companies seem to have a complete lack of controls and it’s certainly not a gift that is for sure! I would strongly suggest folks should keep away from those phone calls, we can largely create here, where our own future is heading, but much can still be out of our hands.

I think most genuine fortune tellers don't ask for money, my mother went to one and they said you don't have to give money but there is a donation pot if you wanted to. Its a shame the scammers give all of them a bad name
Interesting and well shared info but i think a good number of these people are not real, that is they are full of dubious characters.
I think when they are dabbling in this art, they are summing the demons into there lives. Not good. But they have always been around and probably always will.
God Bless
Certainly a number of these people are fakes.I don' know about the rest.
